The duty
Frequent starts, safe stops.
Hoist motors are duty-rated motors with high starting torque and low starting current, made for frequent starts, stops and reversals. A high pull-out torque to rotor inertia ratio gives rapid acceleration.
EMPD hoist-duty motors are energy-efficient and suited to heavy-duty use in cranes, lifts, weirs, sluices and auxiliary drives.
